Anthony Diaz is a phenomenal artist on our platform. Diaz is based in the Dominican Republic.
He focuses his style on realism and is inspired by God, dancing, music, and his Dominican culture. Diaz started with simple animation and pencil sketching. Diaz knew he wanted to advance his skills, so he was enrolled in the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes. He began to find his unique style and techniques that he has today.
Anthony says, “I paint what God puts in my heart.”
It truly shows.
We had some time to link up with Anthony to ask him a few questions!
Artlicity: What is your favorite part about creating artwork for our platform?
Anthony: “My favorite part is that many people from the United States can appreciate the arts of my country, especially in particular
my works of art. This allows my works to be better known and at the same time have contacts with those people through my works because when they appreciate it they can also think about the author of the work.”
Artlicity: What is your favorite piece of art you have on our platform?
Anthony: “My favorite work is that of ‘The Hands of the Potter’, I identify a lot with this work because it represents my Eternal Father God giving me the form he wants in my life, just as the potter gives the vessel the form he wants. That vessel is me.”
Artlicity: Who inspires you and your artwork?
Anthony: “My father God, my family and the desire to connect with people who can see what I do and what it causes in people when they have contact with my works of art.”
Artlicity: How do you describe your painting style?
Anthony: “Realistic, but with the freedom of certain sub-realism mixes, in that sense I feel free to paint what catches my attention and interpret it for some stage of my life.”
Observing Anthony’s artwork gives one a sense of peace. I personally love some of Anthony’s new work on the platform, “Water Turtles”, “Ostrich”, and “Freedom of the Horses”.
