This conceptual piece of art is a mixed acrylic and oil on canvas. It is of an artist from the Dominican Republic named Juan Luis Guerra. Juan Luis Guerra is a Dominican singer, songwriter, composer, and producer. He has sold over 30 million records and records the genre of merengue and bachata. It appears Mr. Cuevas is paying respect to this music artist and combining Juan Luis Guerra and the Taino culture together because the music artist released an album named “Areito” and a song that was sung in the Taino language. It is interesting to see Mr. Cuevas using the Taino culture surrounding the music artist. The culture symbols include an owl, fish, bird, snail, warriors and the Caribbean flower called the Hibiscus. This vibrant original artwork would look magnificent in a bedroom, living room, music studio or office.
