The surrealist nature of this painting is fascinating. The oblong shapes which make up the face are extremely intriguing There is a myriad of colors all bringing about a very interesting tone. If you look closely, you can see the intricate shading which made this piece possible. You see an older man with a receding hair line. His eyes are hollow and dry, nose large and pointed downward. The plump but pursed lips are a very interesting feature. The jawline is strong but the face as a whole looks sickly. The light splashes of color help influence the sickly appearance as well.
