Caribbean Artist, Eddy Casado painted this still life on oil on lanilla (flannel). It is simply named “Tropical Still Life” because according to Mr. Casado, ‘” It has the colors of the tropical…, as he perceives it”. Even in its stillness the dark red wine in the fluted goblet considers the palette of the one who gazes upon this glorious scene. There are two bottles, one dark grape-colored purple, and the other one is slate blue. A white cloth covers the basket of purple grapes, some still holding on to their verdant green leaves and oranges with spots of green which suggest they were pulled a few days earlier than needed. The dark green avocados sit still on the table as well, waiting patiently for someone to satisfy. The beginning sunset on the horizon is viewable through the window in the background which makes this scene complete.
