Metamorphosis of the Dominican Culture

This oil on lanilla (flannel) painting is full of interesting pieces of cultural history taking one throughout time in the Dominican Republic, Caribbean artist, Eddy Casado shows people of the past such as the indigenous, the slaves, and other people who happened upon this island. There are books, movies, arts and drama which help show how a metamorphosis of the Dominican Culture occurred. In the blue waters are sailboats navigating to the Island. This is a colorful piece of artwork with blue, purple, red, green, black, brown, gold, white and yellow colors. The shading brings depth,  particularly noticeable in the palm leaves.
